BRDC Rising Star Thomas Randle is hungry for more success this weekend from his Tickford Racing/Skye Sands Ford Falcon FG-X as the championship heads north for round four of the Dunlop Super2 Series in Townsville.
After scoring his maiden Armor All Pole Position, race podium finish and round podium at Barbagallo Raceway in Western Australia, Randle is ready to tackle the streets of Townsville this weekend.
“I'm very excited to be getting back into the car this Friday. The two months since Perth has felt like an eternity so it's great to be getting back behind the wheel in a couple of days time.
I was pinching myself for quite a while after getting my first pole position and round podium on a track I hadn’t visited before, so I'm looking forward to returning to Townsville, where I have competed in both Formula Ford and Formula 4. The weekend ahead will mark the first round on this year's Super2 calendar where I have raced previously and it's the circuit where I claimed my first Australian Formula Ford race podium, so I have some great memories from there.
We have had one test day at Winton since the last round at Barbagallo which went really well, and I have been sharpening my skills in my father’s SAAB Sports Sedan, winning the last two rounds of the Skye Sands National Sports Sedan Series, so I feel well prepared for the weekend ahead."
This weekend's action kicks off on Friday, with two 40 minute practice sessions, followed by one 15 minute qualifying session and a 21 lap race on Saturday, leaving Sunday with the same format; another 15 minute qualifying session and 21 lap race.
